I am setting up a factory in China and our first product is a aluminium step weldment made out of three pieces of 6063 aluminium two of the pieces are 3/8" thick and one is an extrusion with a wall thickness of .080" the part look like a ladder step and needs six welds on each side. Do any of you have any experience with robot welding and what kind of power supply to use. I will need to do about 16,000 units per month or 32,000 welds. I have looked at one robot welder here in China but the cost seems very high at about 80,000 USD. Any thoughts.
