GMAW Prequalification

Dear Friends,
does a Short circuit GMAW process need to qualified or prequalified procedures include S.C mig/mag process?
which standard state that?

AWS D1.1 2004 (see Section 3.2) requires GMAW short circuit transfer procedures to be qualified Per section 4

You may also purchase a Standard Welding Procedure Specification (SWPS) but before doing so, be sure to know that your production parameters will be able to stay within the bounds set forth in the SWPS... If you are working to ASME Section IX you also may have to satisfy Article V adoption requirements.
