Dear Friends
I've qualified PQR for Single and Double V Butt Joints using 25.4mm EH36 Mat.
My client says New PQR has to be qualified for EH36Z and TMCP Materials. As per code new PQR not reqd
If reqd can someone advise why it so

Thks

What construction code you are working under?

Does your client have a job specification listing the PQR requirements?

If you are working on a ship or other ocean going vessel, the appropriate Classification Society may have PQR requirements that are somewhat different than what you already have in place.

Other than the "Z" tensile testing requirements for some structural plate materials, I am unaware of a material specification EH36Z.

My understanding is that critical structural members must have tensile tests through the plate thickness, as opposed to the normal tensile test conducted. I don't see that having anything to do with a PQR though. It has more to do with the quality of plate you use for the finished product.
