In my tool bucket:

Safety glasses, burning glasses, gloves, wire brush, ball peen hammer, chipping hammer, center punch, drift pins, spatter scraper, needle nose pliers, vise grip hand clamps, allen pack, banding snips, 30', 50', 100' tape measures, 16" combination square, 4" combination square, tri square, 12" framing square, 24" framing square, small bevel square, carpenter's square, torpedo level, pipe centering head, 150, 225, 1100 degree tempil sticks, flashlight, wet film paint gage, striker, magnifying glass, steel wedges, tip cleaners, bottle wrench, 4' grinder, fillet and undercut gages. Aside from all this, I think our most valuable tool is not in our tool bucket, it's in our head. It not only gives us the ability to use all our tools, it gives us the ability to work smart. If we work smart, we work efficiently.

Hello Loki, there are only a couple of things that I might add to swnorris's list, a nicely done one at that. A scientific calculator, scratch pad and pen or pencil, a pipefitters handbook or comparable publication and a plumb bob. One other thing that is very important, an open mind to take in all of the shortcuts that you can learn from everyone else around you as you go about your work and work safely. Good luck and have fun. Regards, aevald

I keep pretty much the same tools, plus a set of 2-hole pins, a laser level, a 15 whip(stinger & quik-connect), tip cleaners, 12"& 10" cresent wrenchs, tig rig w/flow meter-#17 torch, a spare #9 torch and I like to use a 4lb hammer.
