CWI/CWE Question

I passed my CWI exam in january and just got my results a few weeks ago (long story). I talked to a guy last week that took the exam with me and he got a CWI card and a CWE card. He said all he did was check that box on the app. He took the same test as me, I don't think he paid any more. My question is, can I get a CWE? Do I have to send another app? Every nice little card helps, and I do teach welding at our company so I believe I'm somewhat qualified. Any answers would be appreciated.

I was wondering about this also. I'm sure it's worth the time to fill out an application to get the CWE at no extra cost. Is this all that's required?

Yes, you have to fill out another application , Pay the fees and document your teaching experience, along with a weld certification from an a nation body. Go on line and get a CWE document. QC-5 That should answer all your questions.
