I'm gonna try welding some SS scraps with a MIG machine I came across it has an argon mix bottle with it. How should I set up the gas and heat? I just wanna try it it out to see if it's worth buying.

set it up just like you were welding steel only expect that the stainless will take more heat to melt, about 1000 degrees, and your gas should be at about 35 psi. Stainless mig is just as spattery as mild mig. It really isnt much different when you get down to it. Just takes more heat. And the polarity changes when you go from mild to ss.

The polarity doesn't just when going from mild to solid stainless, it changes when you go to flux core stainless.
