Ultrasonic System Designed for Pipe Weld Inspection The USM Vision ultrasonic weld Print and Product Showcase inspection system allows non-UT-trained personnel to gather accurate pipe weld inspection data for subsequent remote assessment by a qualified ultrasonics expert. This allows its use for situations conventionally requiring radiography. The system can operate in phased array and time-of-flight-diffraction mode. It comes with its operating software, the company’s Rhythm analysis software, as well as the probes and wedges necessary for the selected codes and pipe ranges. Setup is menu-directed, which allows the operating software to calculate the ultrasonic parameters for each weld and pipe combination, and create an easy-tofollow inspection plan. The operator can then scan the weld, and the inspection data are transmitted to a review station.
