dude,,,it all about a year model,,,they pay the big bucks for em so when they realize most of em are **** and dont weld like the old pipeliner's which they usually throw back on the weldin car,,they want that money they spent for em back. you see what im sayin. i dont know what you know about welding or anything as far as that goes but some guys have good luck with newer machines like the vantage" which is an inverter generator machine just like a lincoln ranger,,seriously. the only difference is an actually deisel motor so if you want a vantage just buy you a ranger with a diesel engine in it,,,same thing. the new pipeliner 200 and 300 diesel machines are kind of a tossup. stick with old school man,,,theyre still around for a reason!!! and what exactly do you weld on
Your right some people like thise old machines, I have a 87 SA250 and a 07 Vantage 300. I like them both but that vantage is a smooth running, easy on fuel, quiet machine, easy to change the oil and filters on in a truck, and they are sharp lookin and wont rust. Not to mention the weight issue.

Not hardly... At least read the catalog before making comments
there is a lot differences between the vantage machines and a ranger, no comparison, the vantage is a arc gouging son of a gun, 4 cylinder dsl. runs smooth, quit, and the accessories you add to a vantage is outragous. Sometimes people can't handle the truth, and what some people learned to weld with is the only thing they can weld with not me I'll try anything or any machine.
"what some people learned to weld with is the only thing they can weld with . "
I love it! Is it the man or the machine?!?
The man people are to comfortable one thing you need to expand, the sa 200 wont be around for ever, times change
Honestly both the man and the machine
Look there was a time when I thought you would never see a miller on pipe job, now people are the pipe pro and so.
ive used both machines,,seriously,,,no difference in welding whatsoever. either way i went back to my ol 200
