Question- Whats the DANG difference between a LINCOLN and REDI-ARC? They look the same except the control plate.Is one cheaper than the other? Cheaper made or do they use chinese parts on the redi-arc?

I believe the only difference is the cosmetics. Lincoln as well as Miller made & still make machines for other companies & simply put their graphics & name on them. I'm sure this is the only real difference. Redi-Arc is a HUGE equipment rental company & has many manufacturers make equipment for them specifically with their color scheme & graphics. Kinda like a grocery store will have certain companies make their brand name products for them & simply put their name on it instead of their own. Redi-Arc buys hundreds of machines at a time & likely has a rental/resale contract with said manufacturers. Hope that helps. Steve.

a friend of mine has a red d arc 300d with the kubota, it doesnt idle down it runs at 1 speed no low idle

i believe they make a kit to idle the redi arcs down now.i believe weldmart in Houston makes it.i was lead to believe lincoln made them

Redi-Arcs are made for the rental industries. The exterior and interior are different. I believe redi-arcs are MFG'd in Canada.

Ive never welded with one, but Ive seen a few and I agree with Sbcmweb. They look like a version of the Lincoln machine with no extras.

Lincoln also makes an LN 25 & a "Ranger" style engine drive with Redi-Arc graphics. I believe Miller does an XMT for them as well. S.W.
