I have only used the Nickel Based Alloys but as solid wire.
The GMAW Pulsed with those wires was sensitive to tip and liner wear and drive rolls. We used Synergenic machines that were difficult to adjust individual paramters on them. But once they were set, they would make a nice Vertical Up weld. Overhead and Horizontal were usually no problem.
I did notice that one could set the machine to make nice visual beads that had areas of non fusion similar to GMAW Short Circuit Transfer.
