Can You modify a Harbor Freight pipe bender to do what You need? If so You can get most of it already built for about $100.

I think I could build one just as quick as I could modify one, I talked to the man upstairs again today, he is willing to spring for one if I give him some literature. I'm paying 80 bills plus 5% for x-rays so its not a big deal to keep paying. could be a good project when our machine shop or fab shop slows down!

Where did you get your dimensions? :-)

their in D1.1 and ASME IX. they don't show you how to make it, they only give the dims for the roller(if rollers used) and the spread and plunger etc. look in the figures in section 4 D1.1 and not sure in ASME but it IS in there somewhere!

Good deal, just making sure. I have seen in the past where bend test fixtures were duplicated from improperly built fixtures.

Please do not take offense, I just wanted to make sure you were on the right track.

This stems from a line I was told by a maintenance man one time. When asked the same question, he stated, "They don't pay me to build sh** wrong!" So I walked away and he outsourced this project, paying through the nose, and when the fixture came in, I rejected it because it was not even CLOSE to what it was supposed to be. He was sent to me to find out why, so I explained it to him, provided him with the PROPER dimensions, and proceeded to ask him if he got paid for screwing it up. HE WAS MAD, and I DID NOT CARE!! LOL
