i live in northwest florida and i hear so many welders talking about they use to work shutdowns and i've been welding for 5 years.  What steps do i need to take?

get a hotsheets mag and call the numbers under the shutdown andturnaround section.  when they have a shutdown they will call you depending on your craft its easy to get started its just like geting a normal construction job you call them and leave your info then you go test after they call and tell you to come then you go to work untill they lay you off.

What type of welding have you been doing? PIpe Welders/ Tube Welders that can Tig a root in carbon 2" Pipe and fill and cap with 7018 are usually in demand.
