Hey Cactus how does the fifthwheel pull with your rails back so far? I was thinking about doing that as well but have not moved my rails yet...
Parent - By Cactusthewelder (*****) Date 07-26-2008 12:30 Edited 07-26-2008 12:46
I have Timbren overloads. I LOVE THEM ! My Hitch is 2' behind my axle and my tongue weight is 2300lbs. My trailer is 40' with 4 slides and I can pull it at 75mph all day long. It doesn't even squat my truck an inch. I tried air bags and they are OK but my Buddy owns a truck shop and told me about Timbrens. Its the only way to fly. When my trailer is not hooked up I dont even touch my Overloads. What ever your payload is now, Timbrens will add 9000 pounds. Airbags only add 5000lbs. Airbags cost 600-1000 dollars and they leak. Timbrens cost 300 installed and they CANT leak.

Parent - By raftergwelding (*****) Date 07-21-2008 17:38

Parent - - By snuffman (***) Date 07-21-2008 17:41
Thats a sharp truck. I seen it last night I think the bidding was only at 4500.00
Parent - - By pypLynr (***) Date 07-21-2008 17:43
Yea, I saw that. I wonder what his reserve is ? Its gotta be worth 10-12 easy.
Parent - - By texwelder (***) Date 07-22-2008 22:02
Its a nice rig, but I don't like the shelves in the back seat, would rather have the seat in there.
Parent - - By snuffman (***) Date 07-23-2008 01:41
He said he still has the seat.

Hey justin O , you never buzzed me back... you countin' your loot? haha  Just messin' with ya. Well, you figure on what you want for your bed?

Not quite a pipeline rig, and still a work in progress.  I plan to build a bottle rack for it when I can afford to do so! :)

There's room at the front of the skid for a bottle rack, whenever I can find the time and money to build it!  In the second picture is the toolbox mount.  The third & fourth pictures were taken on a trip back home visiting the area around where I grew up!  Fifth is the machine face.

Kaye-
Here's pics of my '88 Ford that I rigged out in '89 and ran untill March of this year. She needed a paint job but I never seemed to have time. Been a lot of miles and lot of jobs but she never let me down. She was a good rig.

Now, here are pics of my newest rig that I built in March of this year, not quite finished yet.

What year is that truck, and is it a F-450?
Parent - - By knslash (*) Date 07-27-2008 20:18
texwelder, the truck is a 1999 F550. It only had 42000 miles on it when I bought it last october. I wanted the 7.3 diesel engine, so this is a lucky find for me.

I'm almost finished with my bed for a 1999 F-450 crew cab, 7.3 diesel, 6 speed.

I should been done in a week or so, I'm gonna have the bed sandblasted and painted this week, putting stainless lids on my boxes. What kind of paint do you recommend for the bed?
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-27-2008 20:01

It looks good. I like the pipe rail around the sides and on the back of the bed. What is behind the plugs above your oxygen cylinder? I am going to start on a bed for mine here shortly, as soon as some bills get paid. The more I look at what other guys are doing, the more design changes I seem to make in my plans. Imagine that!!!

pipe if you are talking about the  burn orange bed the lids over the bottle are for umbrella and the other one is for 4 ft straight rule and tig rods
