AWS D9.1M/9.1:2000

Code covers sheet metal up to and including 3 guage, or 6.35mm [0.250 in.]

chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel alloys are one of the included base metals.  (Para. 2.1.1)

AWS D9.1 for non-structural sheet metal which includes stainless steel.
AWS D1.6 for structural stainless steel which does not limit the thickness as what D1.1 does.

Noel Tan
