I would like to know what is involved in adding a remote to my machine.  I have a Classic II and would like to install a plug and on/off switch for a remote.

Shirley Cable in Bastrop Louisiana 318-281-1833  I just orderd one for my 62 sa 200 today hopfully will be getting it tomorrow or the next day it comes with pig tail and instructions to wire it into the machine and it comes with the remote.. you just have to supply the long extension cord that goes from the remote to the pgtail

Well I can tell you that you don't want to go with the Lincoln switch. Call Cable Remote.318-281-1833. If your machine doesn't already have the 4 prong twist lock receptacle on it, you can talk to them about your options.

Thanks for the info.. I ordered one from J. Kincaid. Something I found within this forum.  I'm hoping to get it next week. Are these hard to install? Also does one use 12 gauge wire or 10 gauge wire for the pig tail comming out of the machine?

Also check out Weldtron.com outta Alice Tx. Cool little remote. 2 1/2 inch cube. Plug and magnet. Comes with a small circuit board and fits like 67 different machines.
Edit...Just reread the post and realized you already have the remote! Anyone else looking, check em out!

yeah I seen them a long time ago and thought they were neat especially if like you wanted to clip it to your waist as you were welding you could adjust your heat but to be honest I'm hard on equipment and this remote I bought from Shirley looks like I could throw it 50ft and pick it up and it would work fine not like I'm gonna do that now but it looks like it could handle the beating. I was just building my trailer today and man had to go adjust the heat quite a few times because i'm still getting use to the machine and I think tomorrow I'll have to install the remote although I guess I do need the excercise.
