i would think most contractors you are welding for supply them.

Mathey Dearman and Victor for the barrel torch.

But like 52 said not a necessary tool for pipeline but good for plant work a 3"to 8" is real handy.

Everybody I know runnin rigs, have their own beveler. A 2 to 4", and a 6 to 8". Usually above 8" the contractor will furnish. At least that's what I've been told around here.

What ever happend to the old aged way of cutting a bevel by hand?  I can see if you do work where you use the machine every day, then it's worth the $1200 doller + setup.  If you have any question on whether or not you need it then you probably don't.  If you NEED a tool then there won't be any Question about it.  Just my 2 pennies.

i dunno why they wont i tried but holes dont match up and the offset of the rack is to shallow to allow it to clear the gear hard to explain i bought them new last year

Heck industries makes some nice hand held millers that bevel.  I have never used one, but worked for a structural shop that needed them badly once.  They were welding, or attempting to weld, 5/8" angle - vertical down.  The CWI claimed full pen capability in one pass for his 'weld procedure'.  I cut several up, and they of course had virtually no pen.  The solution was to reject all the structures coming through the shop, and rework them by beveling with a hand torch and then rewelding to full pen in several passes.  It would have been a snap with a Heck hand beveler.
