I know thickness plays a roll in temps but not to sure it changes values of absorded energy unless sub sized samples are used.
I deal mostly with incomming steel from the Mill, Ravi does this change when dealing with a weld coupon or were you refering to sub sizes when mentioning thickness?
When i recieve a plate (with suppliment s-5) i use the thickness to get a test temp then i go to the table with the values for absorbed enery, but if there is a subsized test piece being used, there is a reduction of temp and the absorbed energy value changes, Is the correct Ravi or anyone?
