Hello Marsh Welding, odd that you should mention that, I believe Home Depot sells Lincolns, the entire line. They just don't stock them in the stores to my knowledge. Best regards, aevald

do you suppose the help at home depot will be as good at helping someone choose a welder as they are at helping picking out blinds or a new fridge? i think i will stick with buying my stuff from from people who actually know how to use what they sell.

my post was just a reference to all the big chain stores that run out the little guys. in my area we used to have gun shops. then walmart came along and pretty much shut them down. now wal mart doesnt carry firearms and all thats left are the big sporting goods stores that have prices through the roof on stuff.

i just dont care for the mega retail stores. besides the 3 full time employees at a wal mart store they dont help our economy at all

I know exactly what you mean and would certainly agree about dealing with folks who know a bit more about the product than it's color. I was really kind of taken back when I found out that you could get the industrial stuff from them as well as the home stuff. Regards, aevald

I agree. The other thing to consider, is if you buy a machine from your local weld supply & have an issue, they are going to get you in & get it fixed pronto.

If you bought it from Home Depot, had a problem & went back, they would send you to a factory service center. If that happens to be your LWS, they might not be as helpful & timely about getting the repairs done, warranty or not.

You didn't buy it from them. They have no incentive, just an obligation to fulfill factory warranty work on their schedule.

Still, a good price is a good price.

I do all my business with the same place, have been for 10 years. Even if they are a little higher than someplace else, between all the freebies & excellent service I have gotten from them, it's the only place I'll deal with. S.W.

i use ebay as a price fighter when i bargain on new equipment but i always buy from the same place. the service is the number 1 reason. u buy somewhere else and it breaks down your stuff sits in the back till they get time. if they get time. u might have a 6 month wait. bein top of the list is worth the extra money and having to pay tax. broke down equipment doesnt make you money.

You said it. If you didn't buy it there, they aren't going to do you any favors. I don't blame them either.

Good business always comes back around. S.W.

you couldnt be more right. ive bought all my equipment from one place. now the favor is coming back around. if they have any one looking for a used 200 im the first they call. linweld doesnt like to take 200s on trade or sell them used. but ive been a loyal customer so if they have someone wanting to trade a 200 or buy a used 200 im the one who gets called. home dpot doesnt give a crap about you or your interests. all they care about is making money. ill take the customer service any day over saving a few bucks. i dont know what you can save on a 300d buy purchasing at home depot but when that machine is at the back of the repair shop you are gonna be paying for it. nothing ever breaks down when you dont need it. that extra time in the shop is gonna cost you thousands in the long run!

Man, it's nice to know good folks out there still appreciate good customer service. Same deal with my LWS. I bought my TB 302 from them new, my Maxstar 150 & 375 Extreme as well. I could have purchased them cheaper online, but these guys are super to me, I want to see them get the profit. Whenever they get used machines in that someone wants to off, he calls me first. He's sent me a lot of business &  I return the favor when I can. I stop in once in awhile & bring a big pizza in for lunch. It has come back time & again.

They are the only independent LWS left in town. It's them or Airgas.

I tell everyone I know Purity Cylinders is the best & they will treat you right.

S.W.
