This dude put this post up, saying how he was looking for some welders. He tried to come off all coy & kinda dumb, but he seemed to know the name of every copper laden obscure brand welder ever made. Now, I'm not an expert, but I've been in the buy & sell business a long time & I know a scrapper/bottom troller when I see one. I called him out on it, not being all too nasty, just saying it sounded a LOT like a scrap gaffe. He was like "Gee....I'm looking for a welder for my personal use....Any brand, single or three phase is ok....Boy, I've looked on craig's list & ebay & no one has one" He didn't ask for Miller or Lincoln, just stuff he figured he could pick up for cheap or next to nothing.
What really burns me up on this crap with these guys, is they play the coy angle. They try to deny they are going to put a for sale sign on it the second it hits their driveway. These guys do their little business under the radar, don't pay licensing, taxes or claim it on their income tax. Now, I'm not against someone making a couple of bucks, but it's just like the guy that has the permanent garage sale sign, goes to auctions to replenish his stock & rolls it out every single weekend. You can bet this guy ain't claiming a cent of his income. I have a business license, pay insurance, overhead, put time & effort into every thing I do & I PAY TAXES on what I sell.
Anyways, me & this dweeb got into it & I ripped him up. He made an ass of himself & I enjoyed making look bad. That was pretty well the gist of it S.W.
