Hello guys,
I have the current codes / standards in my library.
API - 25
AS/NZS (Australia / New Zealand) - 59
ASME - 52
ASTM - 25
AWS - 3
BS/EN (British/ European) - 19
Of these I have paid for 1 (AWS D14.3) and the only reason for that was that no-one I knew had a copy.
It is no different to music sharing, there are hundreds if not thousands of guys around the world who share codes and standards amongst themselves.
Of the library I have noted above I would use at least 40 of those codes / standards regularly, at a couple of hundred each that is a bloody fortune if I had to buy them all.
I totally agree that you shouldn't be able to on sell codes / standards and as such it wasn't a wise move to advertise on the AWS website.
However, in the real world there is code / standard sharing going on every day.
Regards,
Shane
PS. I am not hiding behind a user name so if you feel strongly about this please do not hesitate to report me to the relevant parties.

It's a shame they aren't as cheap now as they were in 1977 when I got my first copy.....  Notice the $2.00 price on the cover?

How many pages were in that book?
Parent - - By thirdeye (***) Date 10-13-2008 22:58
Joe, it has 43 pages.

Here is the Joint Committee page from the 1104:

Here is a scan from my oldest API-1107, it's from 1966, and only cost $1.  It has 43 pages and the illustrations are all by hand.
