I like this hood for certain things but don't use it very often.  well, I pulled it out of my trunk to dust of and it seems as if the summer heat has gotten to it.  The side has warped in, it is still usable but i would like to try and fix it. Nothing is wrong with the lens:)
Anyways, any thoughts on how to fix this would be great.  I am considering taking a torch to it and remolding the plastic.  It doesn't have to be perfect just so it doesn't rub my cheek all the time. btw it's the cammo screen print model.  thanks

Try using a heat gun. Much more control over the heat, with no flame to burn it up. Just don't go crazy with it. If you don't have one, Harbor Freight has them for less than $20.

Good luck. S.W.

Also, the wife's hair blow drier would work but it might be a little dangerous if he got caught!!

Try the kichen oven, not shure of the temp or bake time but maby u could get it to a flexible state ,shape it how u want then run cold water over it. Or could be a bad idea, but just a thought

and4rik,
First try setting it out in the sun in a "relaxed" state, possibly hanging up. It should form back to its original shape. If this does not work use a heat gun as suggested, but don't get to close to it and take your time, it should work fine.

PS:

Remove the sensor unit before applying external heat!

Also.. a replacement shell for the thing might be as cheap as the heat gun..... Its the sensor/autodark guts to the things that make them spendy.
