here in Ab.Canada  its usually $900 to $1000 flat rate

125 an inch minimum with the rate depending on the customer's attitude and what kind of hoops you gotta jump through to get a simple job like this done. Ive charged 180 an hour just for standby time cause the tool pusher mouthed off when I asked why he felt he needed to call me out 10 hours before they were ready to do a cut off. Ill give em the benefit of the doubt if they are having problems, thats a now brainer but when you tie my equipment up just cause you feel like busting chops its gonna cost you. Good luck my friend.

so yeah, 500 may be a little low, materials to preheat and post heat, 3/16 lh inside and out and it takes me 2hrs.  plus sometimes a helper to pre and post heat and line that heavy thing up , oh yeah almost forgot they also want me to pressure test with nitrogen.  i need to get the setup the reg is 350.00 alone which sucks is there a testing fee?  thanks again you guys this site is great!  shannon

i know a guy that charges 150 to test if he has to use his tester but down here in south texas we use a porta power with hydraulic oil i always made them rig up a tester cause i didnt have 1

most people i no are charging 1300, 250 to test, if they have to wait very long they go on the clock at 80 an hour, plus all that.

Snuffman That is the going rate in the Barnett Shale

500 is to cheap a head can be done in about3 hours but they are never ready when u get there and time starts when the phone rings

Yah I do about 150 dollar testing fee w/the nitrogen. Nitrogen testing is the way to go too! So much easier than oil.

$125.00 per inch, $150 test w/nitrogen, on the clock till the head is set on the casing, then starts again when the test hose is disconnected.  usually takes me 1.5hrs from hitting the casing to test done.

Up here in Michigan I charge $80 an hour from when the phone rings till I get home again.I think I`ll check with other welders up here to see what they charge. I never heard of that rate by the inch. I`ll find out if it applies here. Most of the heads I weld on are 13 3/8 some are like 16 inch. Can`t remember the exact size on the larger head,it`s been a while. Most of the time it takes about 4 hours to weld the head.I also never heard of the rate for the pressure test. I am probably low because I know there are other welders in the vicinity where the drilling is going on,but I get called instead.
