Hi I'm new to the welding industry.Can anyone pls tell me What is meant by the letter "G" which appears in 2G, 3G, 4G etc?

Nandesh,
This refers to they type of weld. G is groove and the numbers represent the potition of the groove. Here are some attachments that explain it fairly well. Hope these help.
