I am in the market for a portable rod oven. Any comments about which one to buy?

Rob,
Mainly depends on how much rod you need to store. 110 or 220 power supply. Temp range. Phoenix Ovens are good as are most of the name manufacturers.

I have a Phoenix, the one it replaced was a Phoenix as well, my buddy is still using the old one.

Go to rodovens.com they have all you will ever need at GREAT prices. I just bought 50 portable 50lbs. ovens
