Hello and welcome!
I'm a fellow student, however i'm in my last year as a welding engineer. good luck with your program.
hobart has some good books
http://www.welding.org/cart/training/gwbooks.htm the pocket guide I'd reccommend it's something you can stick in your tool box and use for reference to information like rod size selection. Hobart also has books on subjects like flux core etc, while they don't have too many tables with parameter information they do have good information about the individual processes and how to apply them.
the lincoln foundation has some good books too
https://ssl.lincolnelectric.com/foundation/store.asp?PID=16&cat=8Metals and how to weld them has many tables and information on how to weld everything from tool steels to cast iron and everything inbetween. I don't have any of the other books so I can't say.
hope that helps
