Ok this is gonna be dumb but, what is that for? Just to connect two leads together? Because around here a grasshopper is a c-clamp that is cut off and you weld it to the metal to push/pul the metal to align it.
They use a grasshopper on pipelines for the ground when you can't get to the end of the pipe to put your ground clamp on. You put the grasshopper so that it grounds in the bevel or on the weld.
Shawn, You can build one in many differant ways. Immagination is your only limitation. Kaye gives a good basic diagram. Here is a link to a pic from another thread concerning this.
