Jim there are many different D1.1 test that can be given......if you could explain your question a little more maybe someone could help with the question

I think what you are asking is this.
When qualifying to D1.1 what is another good specification to qualify to?

My answer to the aforesaid question would be: It depends what you are planning to weld on. (a Navy ship, a nuclear reactor, structural steel, oil storage tank, pressure vessel, etc.)

Sorry I should have been more specific. Does D1.1 cove any pipe and if not. Could you post the code of pipe 2" thru 24" pipe with there wall thickness. Thanks Jim

D1.1 covers Structural pipe of various sizes depending on what diam/thickness you were tested with, but ASME Sections are probably the codes you are after for plumbing or pressure piping. Some of the guys on here are more familiar with those ASME codes and can give you a better, more informative answer.
