Can anyone refresh my memory on how to calculate the heat input to a welded joint? Thanks.

Joules/inch = (amps x voltage x 60)/travel speed in inches per minute

Mr. Johnson's formula works especially well for tall, long-legged ex-Navy nuke welders.
