Page 135 Nominal Plate Thickness in the chart am I correct by saying this means greater than < 1/8 and this means less than > 1/8 but when the arrows are on this side 1/8 < is this the same?

i think its like this < is less than > greater than.

just think of these < > as a hungry animals open mouth, and they will want to eat the bigger block of food(number).

X < Y, X is less than Y
X > Y, X is larger than Y
Y < X, Y is less than X
Y > X, Y is greater than X
A < X < Y, A is less than X which is less than Y,
A > X > Y. A is greater than X which is greater than Y

1/8 < T < 1/2
T=Thickness
Thickness is greater than 1/8 and less than 1/2 then.....
I think that part was confusing.
