Is there any where I can get my hands on documentation of what grouping ASTM A694 Grade 50 falls into?

Do you know what class in addition to the other information provided? There are a number of groups for this material. The class number usually coincides with the group number. Please note this is not true for all classes, it depends on the material form (plate, forging, etc.)

This material specifications falls under several groupings. Tha ASTM specification for A 694/ A 694M denotes chemical composition to conform with ASTM A 707.

I don't know the Class but it is a forging. Where does the Class Number come from??

ASTM A 707/707 M.

Read the previous post again.

OK it makes a little more sense now. I don't have either the ASTM A694 or the ASTM 707. I have asked our Material Purchasing manager to get these for me, then it will make a little more sense. So the ASTM 707 denotes class by Chemical composition??

Wait until you get your hands on the specifications.
The MTR should have this info as well.

Isn't there an engineering college or vocational high school where you live? Their libraries should have the ASTM Standards you're looking for.
If I were you, I'd give a look at ASME II as well.

Do you have access to an ASTM book of standards? Volume01.01 has the A694 and A707 Specs listed with all the groupings and classes within each. Like was said in one of your posts/replies, your purchasing agent should have this book in his/her library for reference.

Yeah I know this is a repeat, check the MTR. If you don't know specifics, all the ASTM's in the world won't help.
