800 Billion. Thats the price tag of the new Prez elects economic stimulus plan.
Only WWII cost us more.
I'm still waitin for some indication that the budget is gonna be balanced as promised.
Wanna stimulate the economy? How bout rememberin what you said during the campaign.

And this is laughable.
He says he ain't gonna allow any pork on the package.
Good thought, but you gotta be kiddin.
First off, the only way he can stop it is to veto. Can you imagine his own party overriding his veto?
Of course the most important thing is, at 800 Billion dollars who gives a rats azz if there's pork on it or not?
Whats the pork gonna do raise it to 801 billion? 802? Is there no conception of just how big this number is??? Things gonna be over a trillion before it gets through congress anyhow. Refusing to allow pork is like urinatin on a nuclear explosion.

And of course, those mean old republicans are just being azzholes about the whole thing. They're insisting the money be loaned and not given away. What a bunch of insufferable obstructionists they are. But I'm sure Al Franken with his mystery votes in tow will do the right thing when casting his deciding vote.

Just like his economic stimulas taking $500 less in taxes through the year, does he actually think $42 a month for workers is gonna make a difference? wouldn't it make more sense to give it all at once so you could buy more than a candy bar and soda a day.

js55. The budget will probably not be balanced again in any of our lives. We can point fingers any which way but the simple fact is, under Clinton administration there was a surplus, now there's not. As for the economic "stimulus package" I guess to me its all smoke and mirrors... as you say, who cares if theres pork or not... 800 billion.... why not just make it 10 or 20 trillion? ;-)

20 Trillion could well be the number before its over Jon.

Its growing pretty fast and has spread to our neck of the woods, we have customers work in our shop worth millions of dollers and they are fileing chapter what ever. Had to stop and return shipment on some of it.

That is a real sore spot for me after the grief they give me over a Stress relief of a 15-5 shaft forging just before the holidays.

I am stocking up on Deisel while I can so I can be sure to get in a good garden this spring.

Yep, I agree also ctacker. Now hopefully so will the incoming administration. It will be interesting to see where we all are this time next year. I honestly couldn't fault either side if we're worse off though, it seems the momentum is building even while some small spikes have been seen recently in DJ and other stocks... housing is still falling and until that stabilizes and begins upward movement we'll keep falling.

Yeah I heard about that the other night, Larry flint and some other guy saying we needed to save the mags for the guys overseas. I heard this on the phil valentine show and thought, you gotta be kiddin' me!!
