I saw this car action for $600,000.00 on Speed Channel. I think it was this one anyways, it was the very first production. They don't make them like this any more. :-)

i have seen a similar auction at the inlaws house my father inlaw is an old car nut some of them cars were very pricey makes ya wonder what makes an old car worth so much and why peopl buy them just so they can sit in a climate controlled shop for people to look at

Yeah, I agree. Even with all the "special" perks of this car $600,000.00 just blows my mind.

At least they have value. They CAN be driven, and they are sweet! Some people will give good money for a cornflake that looks like Aunt Jemima!

I can agree with that as well. They are definatly great peices of history. The action price just threw me for a loop. LOL

I know what you mean about the cornflake deal. Happens with potatoe chips and other silly stuff as well.

The family was crying over selling dads old T-Bird as it started but as the price keep going up they changed to tears of joy.

LOL, yeah I would imagine $600,000.00 will do that. :-)

Did not get anything done all weekend watching B-J Auction greatest car show ever. But I have to believe that the most of the street rod car guys get hosed. There is no way you can build one of those street rods or customs with 572 crate motor, air suspension coil over front axle, aluminum corvette rear end, hand sewn leather interior, 5k - 10k paint job and make any money.  Some bring decent money but most don't must just be the love of the game. Just give me anything Carrol Shelby built.

Did you see this 8N Ford tractor with a 350 Chevy engine? Was said to be  installed by a GM engineer looks like he did a good job.

I love those old birds, 55-57's. My uncle has had a 57 red with white hard top and black and white interior for as long as I can remember. I loved riding in that car, how that 312 sounds and just the overall look, has to be, in my opinion one of the finest looking cars ever.
