I'm a contract mechanic and I'm curious as to who repairs/maintains all the equipment on the pipeline jobs across the U.S.,do the have the local equip. dealers take care of all the repairs or do they job it out to guys like me. Just putting feelers out ,gettin real slow down around here, any info would be apprec. good web site!

In the union sector, the mechanics are hired as employees, and are paid rig pay just like the welders.

Try the "Operating Engineers" union hall, HE Mechanic/Welder. You can go out with your own truck and equipment a lot of the time.
