  I am sure that the erection crew enjoyed this project. We have another one at ASU in AZ and I hear stories of the scenery at that one as well. :-)

ASU project. I have yet to receive pics of the completed project, but here are some in process installation pics. In one you can see men in a lift that puts the size into perspective. Also an impressive fact that speaks alot for everyone from engineering to fabrication and install is, they did measurements crossways from corner to corner at the top of the four highest columns and in one direction they were out 3mm and the other direction was out 12mm, yes millimeters. I do not remember the overall measurement, but you can easily tell that it is quite a distance to only be out in millimeters.

John,  I saw a program on Discovery a few years ago that showcased that type of construction.  They highlighted the fabric and the engineering behind the sturctural componants.  I think the finale of the show was the Denver airport.  I started to look for similar structures in KC and have found a few examples of this steel and "cloth" construction. Even though its no were close to the size of the ASU project it is an intruguing method non the less.  I think this time in engineering and construction is by far more interesting than most other eras in history.  I am sure some of the Ironworkers want to kick the sh*t out of engineers when they are presented with some of this non traditional building.

Nice pictures.  Keep em coming!  Its hard for me to put any pictures up when I'm here on the couch all day. :-)

1st, Thank you. This company takes great pride in their "special" projects.

2nd, I will post pics after completion. I do have some of in progress installation, but I want to wait until completion. :-)

3rd, As I stated earlier, I have not yet been needed in the field. I almost want to let something go out bad that would require my presence on site! :-)

LOL, I don't know. I did not go with the erection crew. I stay at the plant unless there is some sort of issue requireing me out there. Usually there is a third party inspector on site for erection.

Yes, this was for sure a joint effort. As stated before, these projects are only accomplished as a result of everyones ability's. From design to engineering, drafting, fabrication (steel, and fabric), shipping, installation, and finally the presentation.

I am just thrilled to be a small part of these projects.
