I ordered a new pancake from Wendy's about a week and a half ago. Now I'm getting antsy waiting on it. He said they were 3 1/2-4 weeks behind. Can't rush it though, just feels like Christmas as a kid, waiting for the days to go buy and when UPS pulls up the drive. Yep, useless post but had to say it. Ready to kick arc flash goodbye for sure.

Cumminsguy71, why not make one. I made one about a year and a half ago because I couldn't wait 3 weeks or so.  I used some 20 guage aluminum, pop rivets, pancake hood strap and presto, I had one made.  It's all the same dimentions as a store bought one. Check mine out.  the aluminum was from a sign that I had. I did not have time to get it real clean on the inside portion but it is something people always ask about.

by golly, I actually had the same idea...almost. I used a pair of flip up torch goggles and cut out a piece of lexan. I mounted it with small bolts but then put it on and there was a gap at the top where it would pull away from the lexan. Thought for sure with my luck I'd get blinded or have a stray spark land perfectly inside the goggles and bounce around and get in my eye(that's my luck). I still have it downstairs and figure I may get back to it.

Only problem is with the little bolts I used I can't slide the cover apart to change the inside lens, can still do the outer two though, which is the important part but wanted the flip up so I could grind with the same hood. I bet that aluminum is light and tough! Actually got a piece of diamond plate aluminum in the shop as well....hmmm??

it's really light and tough.  It has been blown away a few times when I have set it down outside in this oklahoma wind.  But has yet to break.

They told me the same thing last fall, and it was here in two weeks.  Maybe things have changed timewise, but they do a good job i my book.

I hope so, but can't do anything about it except wait on the UPS man everyday!!
