hey whats up yall, new to the board, love what i see!!!!......... any ways im debating what machine to purchase never welded with either one of them so was wondering if i could get some input from you guys...... in my work i run from 2in to 14 in mainly 3in flow lines and 4in gas lines tho all day long!!!!! i had some one told me that the new trailblazer pro 350 was a hell of a machine also any body use one???
I've welded with both the 200 and 300. I would buy the 300 mainly because it has ac power, which to me is important. But they are both excellent welders.
if you weld mainly pipe then i would for sure go with the 200!! it stacks way better and pipewelders dont need ac power..but thats just me..you could always ad a converter later if needed or just stick with a torch..
thanks for the feedback !!!!!
I have been pipelining with a 300D for a little while now and have had good luck with it. The last line i was on every one of the welders had 300D. I am the only welder that runs a 300D on the line I am on now, 90% of the other welders are running 200D. I have welded with there machines I dont notice enough difference in mine and theres to justify paying an extra $1000+ and giving up AC power. It really comes down to a matter of personal opinion. My advice would be to try to weld with both kinds of machines and see which one works best for you. If you have any other questions holler at me.
you can save alot of money by just gettin a redface thats rebuilt and if you have the carb tuned right then you wont be out much on fuel.its just me but im not spending 12 to 13k for a new one.all my buddies have 300ds and pipe pros and yes they are nice and yes they have all went down..mine is the only one that hasnt failed me not one time..and the best thing is that if it does i can fix it.but they all wanna run mine cause it stacks way better..but this is totally just my opinion.i can plug a ac converter in mine but that wont happen cause if a torch or bevelin machine wont do the job then oh well..but ive never had that problem yet.they are just easy to refurbish and never have problems if done right..i have one buddy that has a shorthood that fowler put a yanmar in..Thats totally the ultimate machine!!
if you are worried about ac power buy a vantage or simular machine if you want to weld pipe buy a 200. ive run classic 3 gassers, 300ds, miller trailblazers and 200s in my opinion the 200 is a nicer machine on pipe. but we all have our own prefference and style. i would buy a used 200. if you dont like it sell it and get you a 300 or other machine
try out a miller pipe pro 304, the electronics and the fact that it is an invertor scares guys... BUT for welding pipe all day long you cant beat the machine a friend of mine (PIPELINER) ran it , went out and bought one. Anyway i love mine and i welded with 200 and 300's .. regards shannon
I run the new Vantage 500 compact. Ill put it against any machine anywhere. Bar none. Ive done this a long time and I have not EVER owned or welded with a better machine. PLUS it has 22k of AC power
thanks for the time fellas!!!
With a machine like that You could run an inverter if You needed AC for TIG work.
im leaning with the 200d and like david said if i need ac power just run the inverter, now time to look for the best price!!!!! but if i can find a 300d for a good price in not hesitating
im hoping to find one thats 4 or 5 years old for a better price if not will have to buy new, thanks
Yes You could run a 12 VDC to 115 VAC inverter from the 200s battery system.
I was refering to running an AC/DC inverter welder from the aux power on the Vantage 500 to do AC TIG welding of aluminum & other alloys, as the Vantage doesn't have AC welding output.
