The red-flags have been hoisted for all objective American citizens to see. Barack Obama has, on multiple occasions, stated his intention to form a NATIONAL POLICE CORPS that is: "JUST AS POWERFUL: JUST AS STRONG: JUST AS WELL FUNDED AS THE UNITED STATES MILITARY." A stealth way for a demagogue to bypass our Posse Comitatus laws. How long before uniformed Obama recruits knock on your door, and haul you off to a re-education camp? If this Obama pronouncement does not alert you to just how dangerous this radical leftist is; and, awaken you from the Obama stupor that seems to have afflicted so many, then our Nation's survival is most certainly in jeopardy. The old adage that: "Those who fail to heed tragic lessons from history, are doomed to repeat them." is more true today than ever before in our American history for the simple reason that rather than a foreign, readily identifiable adversary, this one is surreptitiously growing right in our midst. when he is not elected for a second term this "police force " might keep him in office.

As for another police force what will they do? This country has the biggest last line of defence already, there are many good organizations who have been watching this fat bloated bully government for a long time and i know that when push comes to shove and enough is enough a storm will sweep accross this nation.
there is a well organized milita in this country waiting quitely and peacfully and i know for a fact they are not the scumbag skin head nazis that the feds say they are.
these people are welders, business owners, students , laborers , these are people from all walks of life. they feel just like the liberaLS in this country, change needs to happen but they want change in the opposite direction.

I'm not sure if there is an unbiased man, woman, transgender, or fact checker site in the USA when it comes to Obama.

Particularly the Annenberg political Fact Check.org site.

I agree, I've decided to step out of the political threads.  it's been my general observation due to what I'm guessing is a culture/class divide that most welders are generally from blue collar back grounds and are generally republican.

again this is gross generalization.

I believe the republican party ran a very negative campaign this cycle and instead of focusing on the positives of their position they instead tried to amplify the negatives of the opposition. Now after their defeat in the general election, many of these attacks have lingered on or assumed a life of their own.  While i'm not democratic I'm far from concerned about this country turning socialist over night or him running this country into the ground, and in my own research it seems a lot of the fears over obama appear to be exaggerated or rely unfounded information, such as the example above.

I hope his administration has has some bright ideas and fill the key positions with key players as I can't remember in recent history where a president has walked into such a difficult situation. With 2 concurrent wars overseas and the largest recession in our nations history coupled with an embroiled congress. If his adminstration flounders than we all do, and I don't really want that.
Instead of playing the blame game on, how and who got us here.  I would like for forward thinking attitudes and new paradigms in both economics and politics to get us out of this.

Finally on a personal note.  I've always found it curious that while generally urban citizens and democrats are considered the largest resource drains on the tax base, Generally it is republican and rural areas that receive the most federal spending per tax dollar collected.  http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxdata/show/266.html   including Palin's own Alaska which is ranked 3rd.

Whether I agree or disagree with your post(this one and others) doesn't matter as I respect your opinion and insight on politics and our country in general.

1.) Most non-union welders are blue collar and republicans. Most union workers vote democratic. I agree.
2.) Rep party did run a negative campaign but did not spend nearly as much as Obama did on negative adds. Obama had unlimited amounts of money compared to McCain.
Obama reneged on his promise to use public funds when he saw that he would get unprecedented money for his campaign.

Percentage wise McCain had more neg adds. Quantity wise Obama had many more neg adds.

With the media in the tank for Obama, McCain couldn't match positive for positive adds and expect to win. I'm still amazed that after Obama's church/pastor/Farrakhan/Ayers/Resco/Acorn etc connection questions that our country still elected him. I thought the racist pastor would have given the dem primary to Clinton.

3.) As far as him filling key positions with key people and bright ideas, I'm not at all encouraged with what I've seen so far. He flat lied when he said (to get elected) he was going to bring accountability, ethics to the white house. He said NO lobbyist. Yet he picks lobbyist. So many of his pick for his cabinet are corrupt and are not qualified. Thus far he hasn't filled his cabinet. March 2nd.

4.) As far as the blame game. You can't go one minute without Obama, Pelosi, etc. saying "inherited economy, inherited recession, eight years of failed Bush economics, etc."
I'm sick of that too. Just fix it.
Even that is a lie. For 7 years the economy was not in trouble. Stock market at record levels, inflation low, unemployment very low, had to turn our heads while millions of illegal workers flooded the work force in the US. Even though that was true I still was not comfortable with our country. We don't make anything anymore. Not as bas as many states but here in NC we have lost tons of textile, and furniture businesses. All shut down. 200K - 300K houses everywhere. Who was making enough money to afford them. Turns out a lot of people were not making enough. Just over borrowed.

5.) The two parties are NOT going to work together to get us out of this. They both (IMO) want the other to fail so that they can have the majority.
The dems worked against Bush. I expect both sides to stick with their principles but not just to work against the other party.
I'm reminded when Dem. Jim Clyburn (SC) was asked "What if the surge (increase in troops in Iraq) was successful?" His reply, "Well that would be real  bad problem for us."
(:16 sec) He was referring to the dems timetable to pull out of Iraq, not the election.

Maybe you're right RonG. I live in the hills. The Sandhills. Near Fort Bragg. I'm not sure where the hills are though, must of had some wind storms before I was born and spread the sand out. Then they decided to make golf courses around the sand piles/pits. Pinehurst area.
