Hi member of the congress,
Just curious to ask is there any direct relation between the HAZ on the mild steel roller being repair or rebuild with mild steel electrode. Questions posted for answer are;-
1. Will the repair of the mild steel roller with mild steel electrode will have the hardness different on HAZ (e.g. Weldments, HAZ, Parent metal).
2. We have experience that after repair, the kurning (roll a paterned roller over the steel surface to create the same patern on the roller) process causing the patern roller spoil due to high hardness on mild steel roller especially on the HAZ area.
3. Some time, after repair, the whole roller is undergo a hard anodizing process and the colour on around HAZ show different colour. Could this situation is caused by the different grain size between weldments, HAZ and parent metal. If the annealing process is apply to the HAZ, do you think that this od can help to re-crystalize the garin size to the size close to parent metal. Please advice.
Thanks all for my questions and hope some-one out there is willing to give his suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
KK Chiong.
