AC/DC rod oven survey

I was on the phone with Phoenix International today ordering a part for my oven. While on the line I ask why they did not make a 50# AC\DC oven. He told me that they never thought of that. I told him there might be a big demand for them by people that run sa 200s. I just wanted to see what the people thought. (unlike the government)

I'd definitely have a use for an AC/DC oven. I'd use it the field on DC and then be able to snatch it off the truck and plug it in at the shop. I've been contemplating building one of each to serve my purposes.

Why can't You use the oven on DC? Does it have some sort of fancy control other than just a thermostat?

the basics would work electrically but it might magnetize the rods depending on the heating coil arrangement.

My Phoenix 50# dryrod is AC/DC, I just went out and looked at the tag.

After reading this, I checked Phoenix's site and sure enough it says ac/dc on a few of their models. The only ones I found were 10lb versions, is that what yall's are, 10lb versions?
