I have a hobart beta mig 170 the wire feed motor does not come on when the trigger is pressed.every thing else has checked out,  think it is the main pc board.  Help in any way is appreciated.  thanx

A friend of mine has a Beta Mig which quit feeding. He found a cracked magnet in the drive motor.

have you made sure its not simply a broken trigger wire in the gun?

yes the solenoid valve works when the trigger is depressed ,we by by passed the breaker and hooked up the motor and got it to try to run.     Unless the trigger could be bad and still work the gas valve?

if the solenoid is engaging then the motor should also. Let me look at a schematic so i can see where the voltage from from the motor comes from and how much it is. It could be bearings or brushes in the motor.

Miller Electric took over the Hobart line under 250 amps. Machines over 250 amps went to Thermal Arc
