im selling an 8x40 for 3500 here in n/central oklahoma. cheaper the closer you get to dallas or houston.
Alot cheaper 1500 picked up in houston for the same size container.
im 650 miles from houston ...1500 freight from houston to enid oklahoma; that is why im higher.
how many are you getting at a time for 1500 in frieght. yes i'm thinking again. i'm only 3 1/2 hours from houston. how long are them things ? 20 ft.?

The reason they are getting popular is there a glut of containers in the US because it cost to much to send them back overseas empty when fuel was $4.00 a gallon.
Yes. I've seen pictures of similar ones. It's a pretty good idea. Gee, fuel most cost a lot considering they are willing to scrap a metal container like that. I mean, the container has to cost a lot too.
I saw part of an episode on HGTV or Discovery about these. The thing that stood out is that a company had developed a special spray on exterior coating that they claim negated the need for insulation. That way precious interior room could be saved.

Well it is slightly differant, but along the same lines. My father and grandparents lived in an old train car for awhile when he was a kid. It was turned into a home, not like it was just the train car. However it has since been gutted out. It still sits in the same spot in Holly CO.

i have been thinking about getting 2 of them and putting them about 30 feet apart and building a roof over them and usen them as storage and a shop in the middle
The "indusrtrial park" My friend is in is stacked 2 high and roofed over. The containers have the sides opened up facing the shop floor and are used for storage. This works, but He complaines that the storage is hard to use effectively, not being even with the floor, and some of the area being behind the part of the side left on for strength. His area is several containers deep, a pretty big shop.
ive seen a guy in sardis bc with eight forty footers two on two per side who made a shop. it was awesome and everything except the footings and floor was recycled or scrap.
to some not so pretty but to a welder it was paradise. ahhhhh home
beyond awesome. so many options and could solve a lot of housing problems world wide.
hell if a guy got one cheap it would make an awesome hunting cabin, etc..., even if it had to be flown in by helo would still be cost efficient.
