We have a large Ransome welding manipulator system with a boom that's setup for TIG welding and plasma welding.  It has various controls on it, but for some reason it's being powered from a few different locations.  They are all 480V.  I want to have everything to be powered from one power distribution box, but I need to justfy the expenditure.  What are some of the potential hazards or disadvantages of being powered from multiple locations.

Thanks
