Question,is welding cadmium like weding galvanized parts.

Milton,

Welding Cadmium is not at all like welding galvanized from a safety standpoint.

Cad has a much higher toxicity potential than zinc/galvanized products...

Special precautions must be made for welding, grinding etc.

Cadmium contamination can kill!

Please do not attempt this without real precautions.  This stuff is much more poisonous, and even a small job can really hurt you.  Even welding on a small cadmium  plated part poses health risks!

While Zinc can make you ill temporarily, Cadmium has really deadly quick acting after effects, Zinc is a vitamin that the body can use a lot of, before it reaches toxic or lethal levels.
