This 81 SA 200 is a great welding machine. This one I took all the sheet metal off, sand blasted and painted. Also cleaned, sanded and painted the motor and generator. Installed new plugs, wires, mag cap, points and condenser.  New oil filter and oil. New battery. Carb rebuilt also. This machine is ready for many years of service. I'm waiting for the new Lincoln decals, they should be here in the next couple days.  I will get pic's on tomorrow, hopefully the decals come in before. Price is  $3,000.00 Call Dwight 740-680-2178 or email dlbrearley@yahoo.com.  Also have a redface that I'm cleaning up and servicing, it will be ready late next week. It's a great running and welding machine also. It will have an upgraded alternator and electric idler. I'm going to ask $4000.00 OBO on the redface.  These are located in Southeast Ohio, May be able to deliver for 1.50 a loaded mile upto 300 miles.

This is a no reserve auction, as always high bidder gets it. If the high bidder is not happy with it after burning some rods he can walk away and no hard feelings but I dont think anyone will be disappointed with this machine.

Somebody's going to get a great deal on this welder. It's only at 910 with less then 3 hours to go. High bidder will get it. You win some and you loss some.

Has the bottom dropped out of these SA 200 or what. This machine went for 1525.00. Isn't even worth listing for that price. I guess I will set on the rest of the machine I have and see if the price comes up when work pick's up.

you know what i think, a lot of guys are convinced that the hex gens are aluminum and that they dont weld as good as round barrel copper gens. i have 79' that welds like a champ and its a hex or square generator. 1525 that cheap, looks nice too.

The octagon generator didn't have aluminum in it from the factory?

Yeah from what Kaye has said in the passed on here it was the 73 and 74 models that had aluminum the rest are copper.

So the famed "Code 7789 had the most common field coil failure" of the years 1977 & 1978 are for another reason?

ya i have a classic1 98' model with all copper in it and it has a octogon gen. also have a 73' that i took apart it hade copper clad aluminum shunts and series coils, even the interpole coils are made from aluminum. but like a lot of people have stated the so many welders have been gutted and replace withcopper who knows anymore. as long as it can weld good and runs fine, why complain? didnt know that those years had bad coils, what are the symptoms? sputtering arc or just dont weld at all?
