in texas 26,000 gvw means at least a class b license

it's certainly something to look into. i have never heard of welding rigs needing dot numbers in texas

raftergwelding,you could be right, I have a class e license,no CDL, not required by law no air brakes, at least thats the way it is in florida.

the class b license in texas is like a chauffers license but has weight limits on it anything over 26,000 gvw is a commerical license. i know guys that have trucks with 26,000 gvw that run farm plates to get around having the class b license lol. not sure what my 04 dodge crew cab weighs but i use to run farm tags on my other trucks until i got stopped and got a ticket for it lol you can only drive within a 50 miles radius from theranch with those tags i was 200 miles from home working out of town damn license plate lights will get you in trouble everytime. i got stopped last month with my rig pulling a trailer and they didnt say nothing about the gvw. just a warning for no safety chains and improerly displayed l/p and a ticket for no insurance. if i aint working and cant pay the insurance how in the hell am i suppose to pay a ticket lol i talked to the judge and she let me off with a 150 fine and gave me another 2 months to pay it very nice lady

Sounds like you got lucky, I dont have that luck, when i get pulled over they usually screw me. thank god its been awhile with no work i couldnt afford a ticket.lol hopefully things will pick up. hoping to hear from a solar panel job in indiantown. there sure is no one spending money on boats i can tell you.

I hear ya, I cant even get a gig or a phone call, must of called 20-30 places in the last two days, cant even talk to a live person just leave a message,dont know how much longer i can hold out.

same here what else can ya do,gotta pay bills somehow. just sad over the years i spent about 50 grand on equipment and cant even use it or find a job.

i know how you feel i havehad to sell alot to stay afloat and now looks like i might be going thru a divorce oh well thats life once your in hell its hard to dig your way out

Well, got a call from a friend in texas and he wants me to come down and help him with some steel buildings,better than nothing, if you see my big rig coming down the road beep or holler and we can have a beer and talk about how this economy sucks,lol.

call 918-933-1200 they got work it's Kellogg Brown and Root. It's at Valliant Ok 7 day shut down 12 hr. a day payin 22 hr. 70 a day perdiem. It's single hand but it'll pay the bills for now

me neither.. but went on a job in Iowa last summer .. had to get a dot # while i was there.. havnt used it since bein back home in TX..

I got a 550 ford I got to have all of that here in Ga. I got a miller Big Blue 402D.With everything I got on my truck it its pretty heavy, 17900lbs.
