Hello guys,
My New Zealand CWI qualifications (CBIP) have expired after I missed my 10 year renewal and I am looking at sitting the CSWIP 3.1. I thought about either CSWIP or AWS because I want to continue working overseas and my NZ quals were not recognised outside of Australasia.
CSWIP have facilities in Australia to perform the examinations so will go that route.
Does anyone have any advice / experience that would be beneficial ?
Any advice greatly appreciated,
Regards,
Shane

It should be no problem for you at all.

Join the course, do your homework and you should be safe.

Thanks 3.2.
I am hoping to escape the course via the prior experience clause.
10 years documented experience as a Welding Inspector allows you to just sit the examination.
Will submit the papers and see what happens,
Regards,
Shane

Well in that case go for it, but be aware that CSWIP (like any other program) has their own way of wording questions.

When I did both my CSWIP courses I found that the hardest part was to understand the questions....same with my API course.
If money is no issue for you, I would recommend to do the 1 week course, not for the technical learning experience, but for the reasons mentioned above.

What ever you do, I wish you good luck and please dont hesitate to ask if CSWIP proves to be a bit to british :)

Thanks 3.2,
I have noticed in the sample questions that they can be worded differently.
I am not concerned with the cost, it is a case of getting time off as I am on a fly in/ fly out project and my roster is fixed.
I spend the majority of my time using ASME IX and B31.3 so I may struggle with British terminology.
Regards,
Shane
