I need to add another portable welder . I want a lincoln " pipeliner " ,but from a strictly business stand point I do not know if this is the machine I need . I need to air arc 1/4" carbons minimum  , stick 7018 5/32, fluxcore gas shld .045 min.(29volts)& solid wire.045 spray transfer(32 volts) I am leaning toward a Miller 302 or 402,or Lincoln Vantage 300 or 400,but I only have $6000.00 to spend .And beside I have always wanted an old Lincoln. any suggestions?

the 200 machine will gouge but i wouldnt recomend it i tried it with 1 mine and had to replace a cable going to 1 of the inner poles. the older 200,s werent made for gouging. as for mig welding you can hook an ln 25 to it and it'll be ok but i'm not sure on the .045 spray transfer. Might wanna lean towards getting a 250 or 300 amp machine for the gouging and spray transfer.

I thougt the 200 might not be enough for gouging , I'm running a ranger 250 now and 1/4" carbons push that machine pretty hard .
I'd love to get an old 200 just to say I have one but my hobbies and my business keep getting in each others way. Thanks for the help let me know if you run across any deals

I ran a 300 Vantage for some time, was just fine until I air arc with it had a hard time just not enough power would bog down. Every other process was fine. The 400 Vantage would air arc with no prob all day.
