You are correct as long as your experience is involved in Design, Production, Construction, Examination or Repair. You can have less than a high school diploma but your experience years will go up, e.g. 8th grade level of education with 4 years of experience, less than 8th grade will require at least 6 years of experience. Don't forget you will have to have a valid eye examination and of course pass your test. Good luck in your endevor.
