Welcome to the forum Logan

Tell us a bit more about the autogenous welding you are going to attemt.

What code if any must you be in compliance with.

tube or plate.. ?

Type of material?

thickness of mateiral?

Joint configuration?

Manual or automated?

Pulsation or no?

Are you developing procedures or are you looking for a set of parameters that somebody else has already published?

i am looking for pre established procedures for fusing 304 ss 18 gauge together as an edge joint. I am making rain gutter splice's and i found it to be better to fuse them together than to add filler metal.the rain gutter splice's bear no weight load there simply ment to connect the actual gutters together.however this is for a job that will be installed at a casino and my company policy is that every weld we make has to be a qualified procedure.

Regards

I don't know if there are any AWS SWPS which cover auogenous welds.

AWS D1.6 structural code for stainless steels may be used to generate prequalified procedures

AWS D1.9 sheet metal code is very flexable and procedures can be qualified without RT or Tensiles.

Hope this helps

Type 304 austenitic stainless steel does't lend itself to autogenous welding. Type 308 filler metal is typically used with 304 base metal for sound metallurgical reasons.
