Hardness Testing

I would like to have some info on hardness testing. On the refineries where I have worked I have noticed some of the QC using hardness testers on the weld and HAZ. I would like to have some reference material on proper procedures etc. to do this task correctly. Any info would be appreciated

For technical information on how to properly perform the testing, refer to the applicable ASTM spec for the type of hardness test you wish to use.

Information on how to use the specific hardness tester should be obtained from the manufacturer (Leco, Mitutoyo, etc.)
